FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Trenton, NJ (January 19, 2021) – Certified Elder Law Attorney Carl Archer, Principal, Archer Law Office, LLC, has accepted a position as a Trustee on the Board of NJ Advocates for Aging Well (NJAAW, njaaw.org), formerly NJ Foundation for Aging).
In making the announcement, NJAAW Executive Director Melissa Chalker said, “Carl has been a close friend and supporter of NJAAW for many years now. We are impressed with his passion for working with older adults, their families and caregivers, as well as his volunteerism. His expertise and energy will be great assets to our Board.”
Archer said, “I have spent my entire career as an advocate for the aging community, and I have gained an appreciation for NJAAW’s work and dedication to seniors, whether they are aging in place in the community or a care setting.
“I have seen NJAAW’s commitment to the aging population in a number of really creative ways,” he added, “and I want to find ways to contribute to its mission, both in the community and a facility setting.
“I think the single most important and valuable aspect of NJAAW is its thorough educational and outreach capabilities in public television, the webcasts as well as the live programming it’s offered for many years,” said Archer.
Carl Archer is a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers School of Law-Camden. He’s a member of the NJ State Bar Association, Elder and Disability Law Section, and Past President of the NJ chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Archer practices in the areas of Medicaid applications and litigation, veterans pension applications, guardianships, estate planning and administration, and related litigation. He was one of three professionals appointed by Gov. Chris Christie to serve on the NJ Task Force on Abuse Against the Elderly and Disabled.
Archer also provides pro bono work to low-income caregivers in need through Legal Services of New Jersey; is Treasurer for Jersey Cares, a nonprofit that increases civic engagement by organizing and staffing volunteer projects in urban areas throughout the state, and is a Trustee of JFS Middlesex County.
